160 A MCCB with flat thermal derating and high interrupting capacity
The Siemens 3VA2216-7HL32-0AA0 is a 3-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated for 160 A continuous current, carrying a full 160 A from 40 °C through 70 °C ambient — no derating needed across that span, which simplifies panel thermal budgeting for a line-protection install. Breaking capacity reaches 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 187 kA at 500 V, and 4.5 kA at 690 V — the 690 V figure is the weak leg, so verify the available fault current at that voltage if the circuit runs above 500 V. Front IP40 protection suits panel-mount environments; the 86 mm depth, 105 mm width, and 181 mm height fit standard SENTRON 3VA2 cutout patterns, so a panel originally laid out for a 3VA2 frame accepts this unit without rework.
Three-pole design with no trip indicator and no undervoltage release — the auxiliary contact options are external, so if the BOM calls for a shunt trip or alarm contact, order those as separate accessories.
