160 A, 4-pole MCCB with ETU350 — line protection for high-fault panels
The Siemens 3VA2216-7HN42-0AA0 is a SENTRON 3VA2 molded case circuit breaker rated for 160 A continuous current across the full ambient range from -25 °C to 70 °C, with no derating needed up to 70 °C. Four poles, electronic ETU350 overcurrent release, and a line protection design make it a direct fit for main or feeder protection in switchboards and distribution panels where high fault current capacity is required. Interrupting ratings: 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 187 kA at 500 V, and 4.5 kA at 690 V. The 800 V rated insulation voltage supports 690 V line-to-line systems with margin. Dimensions: 181 mm height, 140 mm width, 86 mm depth — fits standard 4-pole MCCB mounting footprints in Siemens SENTRON and comparable panelboards.
Panel integration and environment
Front face rated IP40 — suitable for enclosure interiors where drip or tool ingress is not expected. The 19.7 W maximum power loss at rated current must be factored into enclosure thermal calculations, especially in sealed or compact cabinets. Storage range -40 °C to 80 °C; operating range -25 °C to 70 °C. No undervoltage release, no voltage trigger, no ground-fault monitoring, and no communication function on this variant — it's a standalone thermal-magnetic electronic trip breaker with no auxiliaries pre-installed.
