MCCB selection memo — 160 A motor protection with ETU350M
It's configured as a motor-protection device, so the ETU350M electronic trip unit includes phase-failure detection and adjustable overload and short-circuit curves — not just a thermal-magnetic. Breaking capacity hits 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415/440 V, and still 52.5 kA at 690 V, which covers most industrial distribution and motor branch circuits.
Trip unit and auxiliary hardware
Shunt trip (STL) fitted as the auxiliary release — good for remote emergency-off or automated disconnect sequences. The integrated auxiliary trip module carries order code 3VA9688-0BL32. Two HQ auxiliary switches are included for status feedback to the PLC or panel indication.
Mounting is standard for the SENTRON 3VA platform — compatible with existing panel cutouts and busbar systems for that series. Latching endurance rated at 20,000 cycles.
