For panel builders, this means the breaker can be applied at full 160 A in enclosures maintaining 50 °C or below; above that, the load current must be reduced per the published curve to avoid nuisance tripping from internal heating.
Short-Circuit Breaking Capacity (SCCR) by Voltage
The interrupting rating varies with system voltage, a critical parameter for selectivity studies and SCCR compliance. At 240 V the breaker clears 330 kA; at 415 V and 440 V it is rated 242 kA; at 500 V it drops to 187 kA; and at 690 V the rating is 52.5 kA.
