The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2220-5MN32-0KH0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for motor protection duty. It carries 200 A continuously across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to that ceiling, which matters when the breaker lives in a hot control room or near a kiln. Breaking capacity hits 121 kA at 415 V and 187 kA at 240 V, so it handles high-fault industrial feeds without cascading upstream.
Motor Protection & Auxiliary Configuration
Designed specifically for motor protection, with phase failure detection built in — the breaker trips on loss of a phase, which keeps a three-phase motor from single-phasing and burning out. The auxiliary switch block carries two auxiliary switches plus one trip alarm switch HQ, giving the PLC or DCS a positive status signal on open/closed and trip events. A shunt trip release (STL) is fitted for remote emergency-off or safety circuit integration.
Integration & Physical Fit
Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 181 mm high, 86 mm deep — standard SENTRON 3VA2 frame footprint. Mounts on a DIN rail or panel baseplate; the 3-pole form factor leaves room for side-mounted auxiliary blocks without widening the panel cutout. Power loss at full load is 46 W maximum, so ventilation in the enclosure should account for that heat.
