Motor Protection MCCB for IEC Panels
The Siemens 3VA2220-5MP32-0AH0 is a 3-pole IEC frame 250 molded case circuit breaker in the 3VA2 series, fitted with an ETU550M electronic trip unit configured for LSI protection — overload (L), short-time (S), and instantaneous (I) — purpose-built for motor branch circuits. The breaker is rated In=200 A with an adjustable overload pickup IR from 80 A to 200 A, and a short-circuit pickup ISD from 1.2 to 15 times In, plus an instantaneous pickup II from 3 to 15 times In. Its breaking capacity class M delivers Icu=55 kA at 415 V, which means it can safely interrupt fault currents up to that level on a 415 V three-phase system without upstream fuses or a larger breaker needing to clear first — a key selectivity consideration for panel builders coordinating downstream feeders.
Integration Notes
The breaker is specified for busbar connection, so it mounts directly onto a busbar system in the panel — no additional lug kit required for the line side. The 3VA2 frame 250 occupies a standard MCCB footprint on the DIN rail or mounting plate. Two auxiliary switch changeover contacts (H) and one trip alarm switch changeover are integrated, providing status feedback for PLC inputs or alarm annunciation without external interposing relays.
