MCCB for motor protection circuits
The motor protection design includes phase failure detection, so it will trip on loss of a phase before the motor overheats from single-phasing. Breaking capacity is 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 187 kA at 500 V, and 5.2 kA at 690 V. At typical 400 V industrial distribution, the 242 kA SCCR gives substantial headroom for high-fault panels. The breaker ships with two HP auxiliary switches pre-installed (design code 2 auxiliary switches HP).
Width of 105 mm on a 3-pole frame is standard for this class. Maximum power dissipation is 46 W at full rated load. In a sealed, uncooled panel, that 46 W contributes to internal temperature rise — factor it into your thermal calculation, especially if the MCCB is grouped with other heat sources.
