What this 3VA2 breaker carries
The Siemens 3VA2225-5HM32-0DA0 is a 3-pole IEC frame 250 molded-case circuit breaker with a 55 kA interrupting capacity at 415 V AC — that's the class M breaking capacity, meaning it clears high-fault currents on a 415 V line without needing a current-limiting upstream device. The ETU330 electronic trip unit gives you LIG protection: long-time (L) with Ir adjustable 100–250 A, short-time (I) with Ii adjustable 1.5–10 x In, and ground-fault (G) with Ig adjustable 0.2–1 x In and a selectable ground-fault time delay tg of 0.1 or 0.3 s. It ships with a factory-fitted undervoltage release rated 208–230 V AC 50/60 Hz and a nut keeper kit for the accessory mounting — saves a panel-builder a trip to the fastener bin.
Where it fits in the panel
The 3VA2 frame 250 mounts on a DIN rail or can be screw-fixed to a backplate — standard for IEC switchgear panels. The undervoltage release is already installed, so the only wiring step is connecting the 208–230 V AC control supply to the release terminals. The ETU330 is a self-powered electronic trip unit; no auxiliary control power needed for the protection functions. Ground-fault sensing uses a residual-current transformer built into the breaker — no external CT or relay required.
