It carries a 187 kA interrupting capacity at 240 V, dropping to 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, then to 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 4.5 kA at 690 V — so the fault current the supply can deliver at the panel dictates which voltage class governs the selection.
The 250 A rating holds flat from 40 °C through 50 °C, then derates to 238 A at 55 °C, 225 A at 60 °C, 213 A at 65 °C, and 200 A at 70 °C. In a sealed enclosure with a 55 °C ambient, you lose 12 A off the nameplate — plan the load margin accordingly.
Built-in communication and auxiliary contacts
This variant includes a communication function and ships with two HQ auxiliary switches — that's a factory-fitted signaling package for remote status or PLC feedback without adding a separate module. The basic switch core is order code 3VA2225-5JP32-0AA0.
