Siemens 3VA2225-5KP32-0AD0 — 250 A SENTRON MCCB for Line Protection
The interrupting capacity is voltage-dependent: 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at both 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 4.5 kA at 690 V. Thermal derating starts at 55 °C: the breaker carries a full 250 A from 40 °C through 50 °C, then drops to 238 A at 55 °C, 225 A at 60 °C, 213 A at 65 °C, and 200 A at 70 °C. Dimensions are 181 mm high, 105 mm wide, 86 mm deep — a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint for 250 A frame.
Integration — Panel Fit and Auxiliary Configuration
This MCCB ships with three factory-fitted auxiliary switches (HQ design) and a communication function module. The auxiliary switches provide remote status indication (open/closed/tripped) without needing a separate accessory kit. The communication function allows integration into a higher-level monitoring system — verify protocol compatibility with your BMS or SCADA gateway before specifying. If your application requires undervoltage protection or GFCI, you need a different variant (the 3VA2225-5KP32-0AD0 is a bare line-protection breaker with aux switches and comms only). The basic switch variant is 3VA2225-5KP32-0AA0 — this -0AD0 suffix adds the auxiliary switches and communication. The breaker can be installed in unheated enclosures as long as the ambient stays above -25 °C during operation.
