What this MCCB carries — and what it protects
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2225-6HN32-0DL0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated 250 A continuous current, designed for line protection in distribution panels. Breaking capacity hits 242 kA at 240 V and still delivers 187 kA at 415 V — enough to handle high-fault utility feeds without cascading upstream. At 690 V it holds 4.5 kA, so this is a low-voltage main or feeder breaker, not a motor-circuit device. Continuous current rating holds flat at 250 A from 40 °C up to 50 °C ambient. Above that it derates linearly: 241 A at 55 °C, 232 A at 60 °C, 222 A at 65 °C, 213 A at 70 °C. If your panel ambient runs hot, size the load side accordingly — the breaker won't trip early, but you lose headroom. Physical footprint is 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, 86 mm deep — standard SENTRON 3VA frame size for 250 A. Fits the same panel cutout and busbar spacing as other 3VA2 breakers in this current class.
Internal accessories — what ships inside the frame
This variant comes pre-populated with an undervoltage release (UVR) and a full complement of auxiliary switches: two auxiliary switches, one trip alarm switch, and one electrical alarm switch, all HQ-rated. The UVR drops the breaker on loss of control voltage — standard for safety disconnects on conveyor or press feeds where a voltage dip must open the main. The base switch mechanism is order code 3VA2225-6HN32-0AA0. Power loss at rated current is 50.5 W maximum. That's the heat the breaker dumps into the enclosure — factor it into your panel thermal calculation, especially if the cabinet is sealed or stacked with multiple breakers. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range -40 °C to 80 °C. The storage limit governs shipping and warehousing, not running conditions.
Lifecycle and sourcing — active, quoted to order
No ground-fault monitoring version is included on this variant — it's a straight line-protection breaker without GFI. If you need ground-fault detection, this is not the right suffix.
