The breaking capacity tells you where it can safely interrupt a fault: 242 kA at 240 V, 187 kA at both 415 V and 440 V, 121 kA at 500 V, and 6 kA at 690 V. The thermal derating curve is published: full 250 A holds through 50 °C ambient, then steps down to 238 A at 55 °C, 225 A at 60 °C, 213 A at 65 °C, and 200 A at 70 °C. If your panel runs hot, size the load current against that curve, not the 250 A nameplate.
Panel integration and auxiliary options
The integrated auxiliary trip is order code 3VA9608-0BB24. Communication function and other measurement function are present, so this unit can report current and status over the bus if paired with the right SENTRON communication module.
