What this MCCB delivers
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2225-6KP32-0JA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 250 A continuous current at 40 °C, designed for line protection in distribution panels. Its breaking capacity reaches 242 kA at 240 V and holds at 187 kA through 440 V, then drops to 121 kA at 500 V and 4.5 kA at 690 V — so the voltage class of your system determines which fault level this breaker can clear. The 250 A frame carries a thermal derating curve: full rating up to 50 °C, then 238 A at 55 °C, stepping down to 200 A at 70 °C. That matters when the breaker shares an enclosure with other heat sources.
Built-in release and communication
This variant ships with a shunt trip release (STL) for remote tripping and includes a communication function — it can report status or accept commands over the integrated bus, which saves adding a separate communication module on the DIN rail. There is no undervoltage release, no auxiliary switch, and no ground-fault monitoring on this order code; those functions would need a different suffix or an add-on accessory.
Panel fit and environment
Dimensions are 181 mm high, 105 mm wide, and 86 mm deep — a standard SENTRON 3VA frame that bolts into a distribution panel or enclosure backplate. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C, storage from -40 °C to 80 °C. Maximum power loss is 48 W, which should be factored into enclosure thermal calculations.
