Thermal derating is minimal up to 50 °C (full 250 A), then drops to 241 A at 55 °C, 232 A at 60 °C, 222 A at 65 °C, and 213 A at 70 °C — relevant for high-ambient enclosures or tight panel layouts.
The 3VA series is the current-generation MCCB platform from Siemens, replacing earlier SENTRON 3VL and 3VF families. No direct form-fit-function substitute from a different manufacturer is listed in the official documentation.

Dimensions are 86 mm depth, 105 mm width, 181 mm height — fits standard MCCB mounting footprints in distribution boards and motor control centers. The 3-pole body occupies a single unit width in most panel schedules. Maximum power loss is 48 W at rated current — account for this in thermal calculations for sealed enclosures or high-density panel layouts. The trip indicator is present; no voltage trip or communication function is built in.
