It's a line-protection device, meaning it's sized for feeder and main breaker duty rather than motor branch-circuit protection — the ETU320 offers adjustable overload and short-circuit settings, but no ground-fault or communication functions. The breaker carries a 330 kA interrupting rating at 240 V, dropping to 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, and 187 kA at 500 V; at 690 V the rating falls to 6.3 kA, so it's best applied in low-voltage distribution up to 500 V where the high fault current capability matters.
The breaker is rated 250 A at ambient temperatures up to 50 °C; above that it derates to 241 A at 55 °C, 232 A at 60 °C, 222 A at 65 °C, and 213 A at 70 °C. In a closed panel with limited airflow, the operating temperature can easily reach 55–60 °C, so the real-world continuous current is closer to 241–232 A — factor that into your busbar and cable sizing. The 86 mm depth, 105 mm width, and 181 mm height fit standard SENTRON 3VA panel cutouts; the breaker ships with an undervoltage release (UVR) installed and provisions for 2 auxiliary switches plus a separate trip alarm switch (HQ).
