What this MCCB carries — and what it doesn't
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2225-7HL32-0HH0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 250 A continuous at 40 °C, designed for line protection in distribution panels. Its breaking capacity hits 330 kA at 240 VAC — that's the figure to check against your available fault current; at 415 V it still holds 242 kA, and at 690 V it drops to 4.5 kA, so this is a 240–500 V breaker, not a 690 V main. The 250 A rating holds flat through 50 °C; above that it derates to 213 A at 70 °C. No communication module, no ground-fault monitoring — this is a straight thermal-magnetic MCCB with a shunt trip (STL) and two auxiliary switches plus a trip alarm switch (HQ).
Panel fit and integration
The 3VA2225 frame measures 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, 86 mm deep — standard for a 250 A SENTRON MCCB. Mounts on a DIN rail or directly to the panel backplate via the mounting slots. The shunt trip (STL) requires a separate control voltage to trip; verify your control transformer and wiring match the STL coil rating. The two auxiliary switches and trip alarm switch (HQ) provide status feedback to a PLC or annunciator panel. No communication function on this variant — if you need Modbus or PROFIBUS, look at the 3VA2 with communication module option.
