What this MCCB delivers — and where the ratings bite
The 3VA2225-7KP32-0CC0 is a 3-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated for 250 A continuous at 40 °C, designed for line protection with built-in communication and an undervoltage release. The breaking capacity is what sets this part apart: 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 187 kA at 500 V, and 4.5 kA at 690 V. That 330 kA at 240 V means it clears a massive fault on a low-voltage distribution bus without upstream fuses needing to blow — useful for high-fault panels near transformers or large drives. The 250 A frame carries without derating up to 50 °C; above that the thermal curve drops to 238 A at 55 °C, 225 A at 60 °C, 213 A at 65 °C, and 200 A at 70 °C. If your panel ambient runs hot, the 70 °C rating of 200 A is the number to size against, not the 250 A label.
Panel fit — dimensions and integration
Footprint is 105 mm wide by 181 mm high by 86 mm deep (4.13 in × 7.13 in × 3.39 in). Three-pole frame, no trip indicator, no voltage trigger. The undervoltage release (UVR) is factory-fitted; the auxiliary switch block carries two HQ switches. Communication function is onboard — no separate module needed for basic status reporting. Ground-fault monitoring is not included in this variant. Mounts on a standard DIN rail or panel-mount plate; the 86 mm depth fits typical 200 mm deep enclosures with room for wiring behind.
