The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2225-7KP32-0KA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 250 A continuous current at 40 °C, with a maximum interrupting capacity of 330 kA at 240 V and 242 kA at 415 V.
Interrupting capacity and thermal derating
The interrupting capacity drops from 330 kA at 240 V to 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, then to 187 kA at 500 V, and down to 4.5 kA at 690 V — that steep fall at 690 V means this breaker is sized for 400 V-class systems, not 690 V main feeds. Thermal derating is minimal up to 50 °C (still 250 A), but above that it drops: 238 A at 55 °C, 225 A at 60 °C, 213 A at 65 °C, and 200 A at 70 °C.
The shunt trip release allows remote tripping from a safety circuit or emergency-stop chain, and the communication function supports integration with a BMS or power monitoring system.
