What the ratings mean for the panel
The 3VA2225-7KQ32-0KL0 is a 3-pole IEC frame 250 molded-case circuit breaker with a 110 kA interrupting capacity at 415 V AC (class C). That rating means it can safely clear a fault up to 110 kA without rupturing — essential for high-fault installations like transformer secondaries or large motor control centers where available fault current is substantial. The ETU860 electronic trip unit provides LSIG protection: long-time (Ir) adjustable 100–250 A for overload, short-time (Isd) 0.6–10× In for selective coordination, instantaneous (Ii) 1.5–10× In for fast fault clearing, and ground-fault (Ig) 0.2–1× In with adjustable time delay tg=0.05–0.8 s. This makes it suitable for main or feeder protection where you need coordination downstream and ground-fault detection without nuisance tripping. The built-in shunt trip (left-side, 208–277 V AC 50/60 Hz) allows remote tripping from an emergency-stop circuit or a PLC digital output. Two auxiliary switches, one trip alarm switch, and one electrical alarm switch provide status feedback to the control system — enough for a remote indication panel or a DCS input card.
Panel integration notes
The 3VA2 frame 250 mounts on a DIN rail or can be screw-fixed to a backplate. The ETU860 is field-replaceable without removing the breaker from the panel. The shunt trip occupies the left accessory slot; the auxiliary and alarm switches fill the right-side slots. Verify the wiring diagram for the specific alarm-switch configuration before terminating.
