Breaking capacity across voltage levels
The 3VA2225-8HL32-0HH0: The interrupting rating varies with system voltage: 440 kA at 240 V, 330 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 220 kA at 500 V, and 52.5 kA at 690 V. This voltage-dependent curve means the breaker can be applied at multiple distribution levels without oversizing — the 52.5 kA at 690 V still covers most industrial secondary-side faults.
Thermal derating and ambient temperature
The continuous current holds at 250 A from 40 °C up to 50 °C, then derates linearly to 213 A at 70 °C. For a panel with internal ambient above 50 °C, the effective ampacity drops — factor that into the load schedule. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to +70 °C; storage from -40 °C to +80 °C.
Auxiliary and release options
This variant includes a shunt trip release (STL) and an auxiliary switch block with 2 auxiliary switches plus 1 trip alarm switch (HQ). The shunt trip allows remote tripping via a control signal — useful for emergency-stop or interlock circuits. No undervoltage release or ground-fault monitoring is fitted on this order code.
Physical footprint and panel fit
Dimensions: 105 mm wide, 181 mm high, 86 mm deep. The 3-pole frame fits standard MCCB mounting footprints in distribution panels. Maximum power loss is 48 W — account for heat dissipation in sealed enclosures.
