What this MCCB carries — and what it means for your panel
The 3VA2325-5HL32-0DL0: Breaking capacity is the headline: 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 17 kA at 690 V. At 415 V — the common European industrial distribution voltage — 121 kA SCCR means this breaker clears a fault up to that level without cascading upstream, which is what you need for high-fault panels close to a transformer. Thermal derating is published per degree: 250 A continuous through 50 °C, then 240 A at 55 °C, 235 A at 60 °C, 230 A at 65 °C, and 225 A at 70 °C. If your enclosure ambient runs above 50 °C, size the load at the derated figure, not the nameplate 250 A.
Release and auxiliary fit
The overcurrent release is an ETU320 — a basic electronic trip unit with fixed settings, no communication function, and no phase failure detection. It is paired with an undervoltage release (UVR) as the auxiliary release, which drops the breaker if the control voltage falls below the dropout threshold. That UVR is the 3VA9608-0BB25 integrated auxiliary trip. Auxiliary contact configuration is 2 auxiliary switches + 1 trip alarm switch + 1 electrical alarm switch HQ — five contacts total, which covers status feedback to a PLC and a separate alarm circuit without needing an add-on module. The breaker includes a mechanical trip indicator and has a latching endurance of 15 000 operations — sufficient for typical distribution switching but not for frequent motor-starting duty.
Panel fit and environment
Dimensions: 138 mm wide, 248 mm high, 110 mm deep. The 138 mm width is the standard 3-pole MCCB footprint for this SENTRON frame size — it occupies three 45 mm module positions on a DIN rail or mounting plate. Depth of 110 mm means it clears a standard 200 mm deep enclosure with room for rear-connected busbars. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C. Maximum power loss is 40 W at rated current — factor that into your enclosure thermal calculation if you are grouping several breakers in a sealed cabinet.
