What the ratings mean for fit
The 3VA2325-5HR32-0AA0 is a 3-pole moulded-case circuit breaker (MCCB) from the Siemens 3VA2 series, rated for 250 A continuous current across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to that ceiling. That 250 A holds steady at every 5 °C step in between, so it's sized for a feeder or large motor branch where the panel ambient runs warm. The ETU345 electronic trip unit provides LI (long-time and instantaneous) plus DTVE (ground-fault) protection, configurable for selective coordination downstream. Switching capacity class M means it's built for distribution-level fault interruption, not just motor starting.
Breaking capacity across voltages
Breaking capacity scales with system voltage: 187 kA at 240 V AC, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 76 kA at 500 V, and 17 kA at 690 V AC. At 690 V the 17 kA figure still covers most industrial distribution fault levels, but if your service entrance sits at 480 V the 121 kA headroom is generous — plenty of margin for a high-fault panel without cascading upstream.
Panel integration and dimensions
Dimensions are 110 mm deep, 138 mm wide, 248 mm high — a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint that fits most DIN-rail or panel-mount enclosures. The IP40 front protection means it's suitable for a dry indoor panel; no washdown rating, so keep it out of wet areas. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, and operating voltage is 690 V AC, so it's good for 480 V and 600 V class systems with headroom.
Power loss and auxiliary contacts
Maximum power loss is 37.5 W — a number to factor into enclosure thermal calculations if the panel is densely packed. No auxiliary contacts are fitted as standard (0 CO contacts), but the product extension allows for a motor drive option if remote operation is needed later. Ground-fault monitoring and communication functions are not built in, so if you need those, plan for an external module or a different variant.
