SENTRON 3VA2325-6HL32-0KA0 — 250 A MCCB with ETU320 and shunt trip
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2325-6HL32-0KA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 250 A continuous current, built for line protection in distribution and motor branch circuits. It carries the ETU320 electronic trip unit, which provides adjustable overload and short-circuit protection curves — the same platform used across the 3VA2 frame family for consistent coordination studies. Breaking capacity is 242 kA at 240 V, 187 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 121 kA at 500 V, and 40 kA at 690 V. That SCCR headroom means it can be applied on high-fault utility services without cascading upstream — a key advantage when the transformer impedance is low or the service entrance is stiff. This variant includes a shunt trip release (STL) for remote tripping via a control signal — useful for emergency-stop circuits or supervisory shutdown sequences. It does not carry undervoltage release, auxiliary contacts, ground-fault monitoring, or communication functions; those are separate option modules (the integrated auxiliary trip is order code 3VA9688-0BL33).
Thermal derating and operating envelope
Rated continuous current holds at 250 A from 40 °C through 50 °C ambient. Above that it derates linearly: 240 A at 55 °C, 235 A at 60 °C, 230 A at 65 °C, and 225 A at 70 °C. If the panel ambient runs above 50 °C, the derated figure governs the load — the breaker will not hold 250 A without nuisance tripping. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range extends from -40 °C to 80 °C. Maximum power loss at rated current is 37.5 W — a factor for enclosed panel heat calculations, particularly in sealed stainless-steel enclosures on washdown lines.
Panel fit and mounting
Dimensions are 248 mm high, 138 mm wide, 110 mm deep. The 138 mm width is the standard 3-pole MCCB footprint for the 3VA2 frame — it occupies the same panel cutout and bus-bar spacing as other 250 A SENTRON breakers. No adapter plate needed for a retrofit into an existing 3VA2 panel layout.
