250 A MCCB for high-fault panels
The SENTRON 3VA2325-6HN32-0AB0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated 250 A continuous at 40 °C, with a breaking capacity of 242 kA at 240 V. That SCCR headroom means it clears faults up to 242 kA without cascading upstream — sized for high-available-fault-current switchboards where a standard 65 kA MCCB would risk a violent arc-flash event. At 415 V the rating holds at 187 kA, and it still delivers 121 kA at 500 V, dropping to 7.5 kA at 690 V. Rated current holds flat across the full operating temperature range: 250 A from 40 °C all the way up to 70 °C, with no derating curve to apply. That simplifies panel thermal calculations — the breaker delivers its nameplate rating even in a warm enclosure.
Line protection with auxiliary switches
This is a line-protection design (not motor or generator protection), meaning it trips on overload and short-circuit per the standard time-current curve for feeder circuits. It ships with 2 HP auxiliary switches — those are the high-performance contacts rated for separate control-circuit isolation, not just status indication. No undervoltage release, no ground-fault monitoring, no communication module on this variant. Dimensions are 248 mm high, 138 mm wide, 110 mm deep — standard 3-pole MCCB footprint for 250 A frame size. Mounts on a panel backplate with through-bolts; no DIN-rail clip on this class. The 37.5 W maximum power loss at rated current needs to be factored into enclosure thermal rise calculations.
Sourcing and lifecycle
The base switch variant is order code 3VA2325-6HN32-0AA0 (without auxiliary switches). This -0AB0 variant adds the 2 HP auxiliary switches pre-installed, saving a panel-builder labor step. If your BOM already carries the -0AA0, you can add the auxiliary kit separately — but this factory-fitted version is the cleaner procurement path.
