SENTRON 3VA2 — 250 A MCCB for line protection
The Siemens 3VA2325-8JQ32-0AA0 is a SENTRON 3VA2 molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 250 A continuous, in a 3-pole configuration, designed for line protection. It carries a flat thermal derating curve: full 250 A from 40 °C through 70 °C ambient — no knock-down for a hot panel, which matters in a cement plant control room or a packed switchgear lineup where ambient runs high. Short-circuit interrupting ratings are 440 kA at 240 V, 330 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 220 kA at 500 V, and 52.5 kA at 690 V — enough headroom for most industrial service entrances and large motor control centers. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, so it's comfortable on 480 V and 600 V class systems. The breaker includes communication capability and a summation ground-fault monitoring version (L-conductor summation current formation). It has no undervoltage release or voltage trip trigger as standard, and no trip indicator on the front — factor that into your annunciation scheme if you need a local visual flag.
Panel fit and integration
Dimensions: 248 mm high, 138 mm wide, 110 mm deep. That's a 3-pole frame that fits standard switchgear cubicle mounting — no oddball cutout. Maximum power loss is 37.5 W at rated load, so factor that into your enclosure thermal budget if you're stacking several breakers in a sealed cabinet. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C. The 70 °C operating ceiling with no derating means it's rated for the heat, not the office — install it in a hot MCC room or near a kiln without worrying about nuisance tripping from ambient alone.
