SENTRON 3VA2 MCCB — 400 A, ETU320, 3-Pole
The Siemens 3VA2340-0HL32-0AA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 400 A continuous current at 40 °C, with a 3-pole configuration and an ETU320 electronic overcurrent release. The 690 V AC rated operating voltage and 800 V rated insulation voltage cover standard low-voltage networks up to 600/690 V class. The ETU320 trip unit is a basic electronic release with adjustable overload and short-circuit settings, but no ground-fault monitoring or communication function. This keeps the breaker straightforward for line-protection duty where you need reliable overcurrent and short-circuit interruption without added complexity. The breaker does not include an undervoltage release, shunt trip, or voltage trigger — those would be field-added accessories if required.
Rated 400 A continuous up to 50 °C ambient. Above that, the breaker derates linearly: 385 A at 55 °C, 370 A at 60 °C, 355 A at 65 °C, and 340 A at 70 °C. Dimensions: 248 mm height, 138 mm width, 110 mm depth.
Breaking Capacity and Fault Interruption
The 440 kA figure at 415 V is exceptionally high — this breaker is designed for installations with very high available fault current, such as near large transformers or in heavy industrial plants. For comparison, many MCCBs in this current class offer 65-100 kA at 480 V; this unit is in a different league for fault duty. The minimum rated current is 600 A and maximum 4 800 A — these refer to the adjustable short-circuit pickup range of the ETU320, not the continuous rating. The continuous rating is fixed at 400 A.
