What this 3VA2 frame 400 breaker carries
The Siemens 3VA2340-5HL32-0KK0 is a 3-pole IEC molded-case circuit breaker in the 3VA2 series, frame size 400, with breaking capacity class M rated at Icu=55 kA at 415 V AC. It uses an ETU320 electronic trip unit with LI (long-time and instantaneous) protection. The continuous current rating In is 400 A; the long-time pickup Ir is adjustable from 160 A to 400 A, and the instantaneous pickup Ii is adjustable from 1.5 to 10 times In. It includes a left-mounted shunt trip for 208–277 V AC 50/60 Hz or 220–250 V DC, plus one auxiliary switch (changeover contact). A nut keeper kit is also included. The 55 kA interrupting rating at 415 V AC means this breaker can safely clear fault currents up to that level on a 415 V line without upstream fuses or a current-limiting reactor — a key spec for high-fault-capacity industrial panels where the available short-circuit current is known to be high.
Where this breaker fits in a panel
This is a fixed (non-withdrawable) MCCB designed for DIN-rail or panel-mount installation in a distribution board or motor control center. The 3VA2 frame 400 footprint is standard across the series, so busbar connections and enclosure cutouts are shared with other 3VA2 400 A units. The left-mounted shunt trip and auxiliary switch occupy accessory slots; verify wiring clearance on the left side of the breaker before laying out the gland plate.
