The Siemens 3VA2340-5HN32-0DK0 is a 3-pole IEC frame 400 moulded-case circuit breaker with a 55 kA breaking capacity at 415 V (class M), fitted with an ETU350 LSI trip unit rated at 400 A. The overload protection is adjustable from 160 A to 400 A; short-circuit pickup (Isd) is set between 1.5 and 10 times Ir, and the instantaneous pickup (Ii) is fixed at 10 times In. It also includes an undervoltage release for 208–230 V AC 50/60 Hz, plus one auxiliary switch HQ, one trip alarm switch HQ, and one electrical alarm switch.
What the ratings mean for your panel
The 55 kA Icu at 415 V means this breaker can safely interrupt fault currents up to that level without welding or rupturing — critical for high-fault-capacity industrial mains where upstream transformer impedance is low. The ETU350 LSI trip unit gives you separate adjustment of long-time (overload), short-time (short-circuit with delay), and instantaneous protection, so you can coordinate selectively with downstream breakers. The undervoltage release (208–230 V AC) drops the breaker on loss of control voltage, which is common in emergency-stop chains or undervoltage protection schemes. The auxiliary, trip alarm, and electrical alarm switches feed status back to a PLC or panel indication without extra wiring.
