SCCR by voltage — the selectivity story
Short-circuit breaking capacity varies sharply with system voltage: 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 7.5 kA at 690 V. For a 400 V industrial feeder, 121 kA covers most transformer-secondaries up to about 2.5 MVA; at 690 V the 7.5 kA figure limits it to lower-fault-current applications. The ETU550 trip unit communicates via the integrated communication function, so it can report status and current draw to a BMS or PLC — useful for predictive maintenance on critical feeders.
