Current Ratings and Thermal Derating
The 3VA2340-5JP32-0BL0: The breaker holds its full 400 A rating from 40 °C up to 50 °C. Above that, it derates linearly: 375 A at 55 °C, 350 A at 60 °C, 325 A at 65 °C, and 300 A at 70 °C. If your panel ambient runs above 50 °C, size the breaker for the derated value — the continuous current at 70 °C is 300 A, not 400 A.
Interrupting Capacity by Voltage
The 3VA2340-5JP32-0BL0 delivers 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at both 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 7.5 kA at 690 V. For a 480 V panel, the 75.6 kA rating gives good SCCR headroom for most motor control centers. At 690 V the capacity drops to 7.5 kA — verify your available fault current if applying on a 690 V system.
Physical Fit and Panel Integration
Dimensions are 248 mm high, 138 mm wide, and 110 mm deep. The 138 mm width is standard for a 3-pole MCCB in this frame size — it will fit existing SENTRON mounting feet and busbar connections. The 110 mm depth leaves room for rear-access cabling in a typical 600 mm deep enclosure.
Auxiliary and Communication Options
This variant ships with an undervoltage release (UVR) and a communication function. The auxiliary switch block provides 2 auxiliary switches, 1 trip alarm switch, and 1 electrical alarm switch HQ.
