The Siemens 3VA2340-5JP32-0DC0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 400 A continuous current and 3-pole line protection. It carries a full interrupting capacity table: 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 7.5 kA at 690 V — the drop above 500 V means you need to check SCCR coordination if your fault current is high on a 690 V bus. The breaker is factory-fitted with an undervoltage release (UVR) and two auxiliary switches (HQ type). That UVR means the breaker trips on loss of control voltage — standard for emergency-stop circuits or undervoltage protection schemes where you want the load isolated when the control supply drops.
Thermal derating and panel fit
Rated 400 A continuous up to 50 °C ambient; above that it derates linearly to 300 A at 70 °C. If your panel runs hot — say 55 °C inside a sealed enclosure — the breaker delivers 375 A, so a 400 A feeder may need a larger frame or forced ventilation to hold the full rating. Dimensions: 248 mm height, 138 mm width, 110 mm depth. Mounts on a standard DIN rail or panel-mount plate. The 110 mm depth fits most 200 mm deep enclosures with room for rear cabling. Power loss at full load is 98.5 W — account for that in enclosure thermal calculations, especially in a multi-breaker lineup.
