What the ratings mean for fit
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2340-5KP32-0CA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 400 A continuous at 40 °C, with a slight thermal derating curve: it holds 375 A at 55 °C and 300 A at 70 °C — so if your panel runs hot near the top of the enclosure, you need to account for that drop in the BOM. The interrupting ratings are hefty: 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and at 440 V, then 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 7.5 kA at 690 V. That kind of short-circuit capacity tells you this breaker is sized for high-fault infrastructure — main feeders, large motor control centers, or transformer secondaries — where the available fault current is serious. The ETU850 electronic release gives you adjustable long-time, short-time, and instantaneous pickup, plus ground-fault alarm (not trip) capability; the undervoltage release (fitted) lets you drop the breaker on loss of control power, common in safety circuits. There's no auxiliary contact on this variant, so if you need status feedback to a PLC, plan on adding one separately.
Panel fit and integration
The breaker measures 138 mm wide by 248 mm tall by 110 mm deep. The front face carries IP40 protection. It includes a communication function.
