Siemens SENTRON 3VA2340-5KP32-0JC0 — 400 A MCCB with ETU850
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2340-5KP32-0JC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 400 A continuous current at 40 °C, with the ETU850 electronic trip unit providing line protection.
The 400 A rating holds flat from 40 °C through 50 °C, then derates to 375 A at 55 °C, 350 A at 60 °C, 325 A at 65 °C, and 300 A at 70 °C. The interrupting curve drops from 187 kA at 240 V to 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, then 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 17 kA at 690 V. At 690 V it is still adequate for most motor circuits, but verify your available fault current against that 17 kA ceiling. The ETU850 release is a communicating electronic trip unit — the listing shows a communication function and other measurement function present, meaning it can feed power-quality data upstream via the SENTRON communication bus. That is useful for a facility energy management system, but it also means the breaker draws power for the electronics: 96 W maximum power loss, which contributes to the enclosure thermal budget.
Dimensions: 248 mm height, 138 mm width, 110 mm depth. The two HQ auxiliary switches (2 auxiliary switches HQ) are integrated into the breaker body, not add-on modules, so no extra depth for a side-mount block.
What is included and what is not
The breaker ships with the ETU850 trip unit, shunt trip (STL), and 2 HQ auxiliary switches. It does not include an undervoltage release, ground fault monitoring, or phase failure detection — those are separate accessory modules if your application requires them.
