What this MCCB delivers
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2340-6HL32-0AB0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated 400 A continuous at 40 °C, with an interrupting capacity of 242 kA at 240 V — enough to handle high-fault utility feeds or transformer secondaries without cascading upstream. The ETU320 electronic trip unit gives you adjustable long-time, short-time, and instantaneous protection curves, so you can coordinate selectively downstream. Two HP auxiliary switches are built in for status feedback to the PLC or panel indication.
Ratings that matter for panel fit
At 415 V and 440 V the interrupting rating holds at 187 kA; at 690 V it drops to 7.5 kA — still adequate for most 690 V motor circuits but not for high-fault 690 V mains. The continuous current derates above 55 °C: 385 A at 55 °C, 370 A at 60 °C, 355 A at 65 °C, 340 A at 70 °C. If your enclosure ambient runs hot, size the breaker for the actual temperature, not the 400 A nameplate. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, so it's comfortable on 480 V and 600 V class systems.
Physical integration
Dimensions: 248 mm high, 138 mm wide, 110 mm deep. It mounts on a DIN rail or panel-mount plate inside a standard enclosure. The 110 mm depth leaves room for rear-access wiring in a 300 mm deep cabinet. No undervoltage release, no shunt trip, no communication module on this variant — it's a straight line-protection breaker with auxiliary contacts only.
