What this 3VA2 frame 400 breaker carries
The Siemens 3VA2340-6HM32-0AH0 is a 3-pole IEC molded case circuit breaker on the 3VA2 frame, sized for 400 A continuous (In=400A) with an 85 kA interrupting capacity at 415 V (class H). That Icu rating means it can clear a fault up to 85 kA without damage — enough headroom for most low-voltage distribution switchboards where the prospective short-circuit current sits in the 50–65 kA range. The ETU330 electronic trip unit gives you LIG protection: long-time (overload), instantaneous (short-circuit), and ground-fault. Overload pickup Ir is adjustable from 160 A to 400 A; short-circuit pickup Ii from 1.5× to 10× In; ground-fault pickup Ig from 0.2× to 1× In with a time delay tg selectable at 0.1 s or 0.3 s.
What the ratings mean for panel integration
The breaker ships with a nut keeper kit and two auxiliary switch changeover H contacts plus one trip alarm switch changeover — pre-configured for remote status monitoring. The 3VA2 frame mounts on a standard DIN rail or can be screw-fixed to a backplate; the nut keeper kit secures the line and load lugs without loose hardware falling into the enclosure. For a 400 A frame, plan for cable or busbar entry sized to the full-load current and verify the enclosure's SCCR rating meets or exceeds the 85 kA @ 415 V interrupting capacity of this breaker.
