Breaking capacity and selectivity
The 3VA2340-6HN32-0CH0: Breaking capacity is 242 kA at 240 V, 187 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 121 kA at 500 V, and 7.5 kA at 690 V. Those are the ultimate short-circuit breaking capacities (Icu) — the numbers you need for fault-level coordination studies. At 415 V, 187 kA gives you headroom for most industrial transformer-fed busways; the 7.5 kA at 690 V is notably lower, so if this breaker feeds a 690 V drive or motor circuit, verify the prospective fault current at that voltage doesn't exceed that figure.
Built-in auxiliaries and release
Factory-fitted with 2 auxiliary switches plus 1 trip alarm switch (HQ type), and an undervoltage release (UVR). The UVR means the breaker trips on loss of control voltage — standard for safety circuits where a drop in the control supply should open the main power. The auxiliary switch complement gives you status feedback for both the main contacts and the trip condition without adding external interposing relays. No communication function on this variant — it's a standalone breaker, not a metering or networked unit.
Panel fit and environment
Dimensions: 248 mm high, 138 mm wide, 110 mm deep. The 138 mm width is the standard 3-pole MCCB footprint for this SENTRON frame size — it drops into the same panel cutout as other 3VA2 3-pole units. Operating temp range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage from -40 °C to 80 °C. Power loss at full load is 98.5 W — account for that heat in your enclosure thermal calculation, especially if the panel is sealed against cement dust or other particulates.
