The 3VA2340-6KP32-0BH0 occupies 138 mm width, 248 mm height, and 110 mm depth — a standard SENTRON 3VA frame size that drops into existing Siemens switchboard cutouts without panel modification.
Breaking capacity across voltage levels
Rated for 242 kA at 240 V and 187 kA at 415 V / 440 V, this MCCB handles high-fault utility feeds and transformer secondaries. At 500 V it still delivers 121 kA; at 690 V the rating drops to 7.5 kA — adequate for most 690 V motor circuits but not for high-fault 690 V buswork. The 400 A continuous rating holds flat from 40 °C through 50 °C ambient. Above that, derate linearly: 375 A at 55 °C, 350 A at 60 °C, 325 A at 65 °C, and 300 A at 70 °C. For a 400 A panel in a 55 °C enclosure, plan for 375 A maximum or add ventilation.
Trip unit and auxiliary complement
Electronic trip unit adjustable from 600 A to 4 000 A (instantaneous) with a trip indicator. The base switch variant is 3VA2340-6KP32-0AA0; this order code adds two auxiliary switches, one trip alarm switch (HQ), and an undervoltage release (UVR) — all factory-integrated, no field kit needed. Line protection design (not motor protection) with communication function and other measurement function onboard. No ground-fault monitoring version fitted.
