What it is and what it does
The 3VA2340-7HL32-0CL0 is a Siemens SENTRON 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 400 A continuous at 40 °C, designed for line protection in industrial power distribution. Its interrupting capacity reaches 330 kA at 240 V AC and 242 kA at 415/440 V, dropping to 7.5 kA at 690 V — the high 240 V figure tells you this breaker is built for low-voltage high-fault points like transformer secondaries or large motor control centers. Thermal derating is published: full 400 A up to 50 °C, then 385 A at 55 °C, 370 A at 60 °C, 355 A at 65 °C, and 340 A at 70 °C — useful when the breaker sits in a warm enclosure near other heat sources.
Sourcing and lifecycle
The breaker includes an undervoltage release (UVR) and comes with a pre-configured auxiliary switch block: 2 auxiliary switches + 1 trip alarm switch + 1 electrical alarm switch HQ. The base switch is order code 3VA2340-7HL32-0AA0.
Panel fit and mounting
Dimensions: 248 mm high, 138 mm wide, 110 mm deep. That depth is shallow enough to fit most standard distribution panels without a deep can — check your gland plate clearance for the rear terminals. Three-pole design with a trip indicator; no communication function, no ground-fault monitoring — it's a straight line-protection MCCB with undervoltage release.
Environmental limits
Operates from -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range -40 °C to 80 °C. Max power loss 98.5 W — factor that into your enclosure thermal budget.
