Interrupting capacity and voltage-dependent performance
The 3VA2340-7HL32-0HL0: Interrupting capacity drops sharply with voltage: 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415/440 V, 187 kA at 500 V, and 7.5 kA at 690 V. At 690 V the breaker is still usable for low-fault applications, but the 7.5 kA figure means it is not a high-interrupting device at that voltage — verify the available fault current at the point of installation.
Thermal derating and ambient temperature
The breaker holds full 400 A rating up to 50 °C ambient. Above that, derate linearly: 385 A at 55 °C, 370 A at 60 °C, 355 A at 65 °C, 340 A at 70 °C. Operating range is -25 °C to +70 °C; storage range -40 °C to +80 °C. Maximum power loss is 96 W.
