Siemens 3VA2340-7HM32-0AA0 — 400 A SENTRON MCCB with adjustable trip
The Siemens 3VA2340-7HM32-0AA0 is a SENTRON 3VA2 molded case circuit breaker rated 400 A continuous at 40 °C, with an adjustable thermal-magnetic trip unit covering 600 A minimum to 4 000 A maximum (full-scale value 400 A, initial setting 80 A). This is a line-protection design (not motor-protection curve), 3-pole, with no undervoltage release, no voltage trip, and no communication function. The interrupting ratings scale with system voltage: 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 187 kA at 500 V, and 7.5 kA at 690 V. That 7.5 kA figure at 690 V is the binding limit for 690 V lineups — verify your available fault current stays under it. Continuous current holds at 400 A up to 50 °C ambient, then derates linearly: 385 A at 55 °C, 370 A at 60 °C, 355 A at 65 °C, 340 A at 70 °C. Maximum power loss is 96 W at full load.
Dimensions and panel fit
The breaker measures 110 mm deep, 138 mm wide, 248 mm high. That 138 mm width is the standard 3-pole MCCB footprint for this SENTRON frame — verify your enclosure cutout and busbar spacing against those dimensions before committing the BOM.
Ground-fault and environmental
Ground-fault monitoring uses summation current formation on the L-conductor. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range -40 °C to 80 °C.
