What this MCCB delivers on the line
The SENTRON 3VA2440-5HN32-0BH0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated 400 A continuously from 40 °C through 70 °C — no derating in a warm panel. The 4800 A frame gives it the mechanical stiffness to handle high-fault energy: 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 9 kA at 690 V. That covers most industrial service-entrance and feeder applications where the utility transformer or on-site generator can deliver those fault levels.
Built-in auxiliaries and release
This variant ships with an undervoltage release (UVR) and a complement of 2 auxiliary switches plus 1 trip alarm switch HQ. The UVR trips the breaker when control voltage drops below a threshold — standard for emergency-stop circuits or undervoltage protection on motor feeders. The auxiliary and alarm contacts give the PLC a status signal without an external interposing relay. No ground-fault monitoring module is fitted on this order code; if GF protection is needed, it must be added externally or specified as a different variant.
Physical fit and panel space
Dimensions are 248 mm high, 138 mm wide, 110 mm deep. That width is a 3-pole MCCB footprint — it occupies three adjacent 45 mm-wide DIN positions or a dedicated mounting plate. The 110 mm depth leaves clearance behind a standard 200 mm-deep enclosure backpan. Power loss is 66 W maximum at rated current; factor that into the enclosure thermal calculation if the panel is sealed.
