Line protection MCCB with ETU560 — 400 A flat-rated across 70 °C
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2440-5JQ42-0AA0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker rated at 400 A continuous current, with the ETU560 electronic trip unit for line protection. It carries a full 400 A from 40 °C through 70 °C without derating — that's the entire operating temperature band, so no headroom calculation needed for a warm panel. Interrupting capacity hits 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, then 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 9 kA at 690 V. The 187 kA figure at 240 V covers the highest fault-current scenarios on low-voltage distribution; the drop to 9 kA at 690 V still clears most industrial faults on that voltage class. Built-in communication function means it can talk to a BMS or SCADA system — no add-on module required.
Panel fit and mounting
Dimensions are 248 mm high, 184 mm wide, 110 mm deep. The 184 mm width is the 4-pole frame — verify busbar spacing and enclosure cutout before committing. IP40 on the front means it's protected against tools and wires >1 mm, but not against water ingress; keep it inside a rated enclosure for washdown areas.
