What this MCCB carries
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2440-5MN32-0DL0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for motor protection duty. It holds a full 400 A continuously from 40 °C through 70 °C — no derating needed across that range, which simplifies panel design in warm enclosures or near other heat sources. Breaking capacity runs from 187 kA at 240 V down to 9 kA at 690 V, with 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, and 75.6 kA at 500 V. That gives you selectivity headroom for most low-voltage distribution and motor branch circuits. It includes an undervoltage release (UVR) as the auxiliary release, plus a complement of two auxiliary switches, one trip alarm switch, and one electrical alarm switch (HQ type). Phase failure detection is built in, which is standard for motor protection but worth confirming if your application relies on it.
Mounting and integration
Dimensions are 248 mm high, 138 mm wide, 110 mm deep. This is a standard SENTRON 3VA frame size for the 400 A class — it bolts into a panel or mounts on a mounting plate. The depth of 110 mm (4.33 in) means it clears most standard enclosure depths without forcing a deeper can.
