What this MCCB carries and where it fits
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2440-6HL32-0BH0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 400 A continuous current across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to that ceiling. That makes it a straight drop-in for a 400 A feeder or large motor branch where the panel ambient runs hot. The adjustable thermal-magnetic trip unit covers 600 A to 4800 A (minimum to maximum), so you set the actual protection threshold to match the downstream load — a 600 A setting for a 400 A feeder, or cranked up for a high-inrush transformer primary. The 242 kA interrupting rating at 240 V and 187 kA at 415 V gives serious fault-current headroom on most low-voltage distribution systems; at 690 V it drops to 9 kA, which still covers many industrial supplies.
Auxiliaries and releases built in
This variant ships with an undervoltage release (UVR) and a complement of 2 auxiliary switches plus 1 trip alarm switch (HQ configuration). The UVR drops the breaker on loss of control voltage — standard for emergency-stop chains or undervoltage protection on motor feeders. The auxiliary contacts give status feedback to a PLC or status lamp without adding external relays. Dimensions are 248 mm high, 138 mm wide, 110 mm deep — a standard SENTRON 3VA frame size that fits existing 3VA panel cutouts and busbar arrangements. No rewiring needed if you're swapping from another 3VA frame; the footprint and terminal layout are consistent across the series.
