What this MCCB carries
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2440-7HL32-0DA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for line protection. It carries an adjustable continuous current range from 600 A minimum to 4800 A maximum, and delivers 400 A continuous at ambient temperatures from 40 °C all the way up to 70 °C — no derating needed across that span. That means you can bolt this into a hot panel or a crusher drive cabinet without losing headroom.
Interrupting capacity — what it stops
Interrupting capacity climbs with available fault current: 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 187 kA at 500 V, and 9 kA at 690 V. The 330 kA at 240 V covers the high-fault end of a mining distribution transformer secondary; the 9 kA at 690 V is low enough that you still size upstream protection accordingly. A 5 kA limited-to-1-second rating handles short-time withstand for coordination studies.
Build and fit
Dimensions are 248 mm high, 138 mm wide, 110 mm deep — a standard MCCB footprint for a 3-pole frame this size. It ships with an undervoltage release (UVR) integrated; no auxiliary switch or ground-fault module on this variant. The base switch is order code 3VA2440-7HL32-0AA0. No communication function onboard — this is a standalone line-protection breaker, not a smart trip unit.
