The Siemens 3VA2440-8HM42-0AA0 is a 4-pole IEC molded case circuit breaker from the 3VA family, rated at 400 A continuous on a 630 A frame. Its 150 kA Icu at 415 V puts it in the high-breaking-capacity class (L), meaning it can interrupt severe faults without upstream fuses — a common spec for main incoming breakers in industrial switchboards where SCCR headroom is tight. The ETU330 electronic trip unit gives you adjustable overload protection (Ir = 160…400 A), short-circuit pickup (Ii = 1.5…11 × In), neutral protection (OFF / 50% / 100%), and ground-fault protection (Ig = 0.2…1 × In with time delay tg = 0.1 / 0.3 s). That range covers coordination with downstream feeders and lets you dial in selectivity without swapping the breaker.
