It uses the ETU550 electronic trip unit, which gives you adjustable long-time, short-time, instantaneous, and ground-fault protection curves — not a fixed thermal-magnetic bimetal. That means you can dial in the trip settings to match your load without swapping the breaker. Breaking capacity runs 187 kA at 240 V AC, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 9 kA at 690 V.
This MCCB carries a full 500 A continuously up to 50 °C ambient. Above that it derates: 477 A at 55 °C, 455 A at 60 °C, 432 A at 65 °C, and 410 A at 70 °C. Size your load and enclosure ventilation accordingly. Maximum power loss is 101.5 W. That heat stays inside the panel; factor it into your thermal budget, especially if the MCCB sits next to other high-current devices.
Built-in controls and communication
The universal trigger accepts a remote trip signal from an external relay or safety system. Communication function is onboard, so the ETU550 can talk to a higher-level system for power monitoring and remote trip indication. No separate communication module required. No auxiliary switch is fitted from the factory, and there is no ground-fault monitoring version. If you need those, this is not the variant — check the 3VA2 options with GF or auxiliary switch blocks.
Physical fit — panel and enclosure
Dimensions: 248 mm height, 138 mm width, 110 mm depth. No trip indicator on the front. If you need visual trip indication at a glance, this variant skips it — plan for an auxiliary contact or communication-based status instead.
