Rated current and thermal derating
The 3VA2450-5MN32-0CL0 carries a continuous rated current of 500 A up to 50 °C ambient (–). Above that, derate linearly: 495 A at 55 °C, 490 A at 60 °C, 485 A at 65 °C, and 480 A at 70 °C (–). For a panel with internal rise, the 70 °C figure is the floor — plan your gland-plate fill and ventilation to keep the breaker compartment below 50 °C if you want the full 500 A.
Breaking capacity and selectivity headroom
Rated ultimate short-circuit breaking capacity (Icu) at 415 V is 121 kA, matching the 440 V figure. At 240 V it reaches 187 kA; at 500 V it drops to 75.6 kA; at 690 V it is 9 kA. The 415 V rating gives comfortable selectivity headroom downstream of a 100 kA transformer secondary — no need to oversize the upstream breaker for common industrial service voltages.
Motor protection and auxiliary configuration
Designed for motor protection with phase failure detection and an undervoltage release (UVR) fitted as standard. The auxiliary switch block carries two auxiliary switches, one trip alarm switch, and one electrical alarm switch. That covers remote status indication and a separate alarm signal for trip events — no need to add an external monitoring relay for basic motor circuit feedback.
Panel footprint and mounting
Dimensions: 248 mm height, 138 mm width, 110 mm depth (–). The 138 mm width fits a standard 3-pole MCCB cutout. Depth of 110 mm leaves room behind the gland plate for the undervoltage release wiring and the auxiliary switch harness — no panel-depth surprises on a 200 mm deep enclosure.
