Breaking capacity is the headline: 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 187 kA at 500 V, and 9 kA at 690 V. The 110 mm depth and 138 mm width fit standard SENTRON panel footprints. At 248 mm tall, it occupies three pole spaces in a typical MCCB lineup.
Thermal derating and trip unit
Above that, derate: 477 A at 55 °C, 455 A at 60 °C, 432 A at 65 °C, and 410 A at 70 °C. The ETU550 electronic trip unit supports adjustable N-conductor protection from OFF to 20%–160% of the phase rating. That matters for 4-wire systems where the neutral carries harmonic currents. Communication function is built in, so you can pull trip event logs and settings over a fieldbus without an add-on module. Power loss is 99 W maximum at rated load.
For a BOM freeze or long-term supply agreement, the ETU550 platform is shared across multiple 3VA frame sizes, so firmware and accessory commonality reduces spares complexity. No official second-source exists within Siemens — the 3VA2110-7HK42-0AA0 is a smaller-frame unit with different ratings and won't drop into the same panel cutout without rework.
