The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2463-5HK32-0AA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 630 A continuous current at 40 °C, with an ETU340 electronic trip unit. The ETU340 is an adjustable electronic overcurrent release, which means you can set the long-time pickup, short-time pickup, instantaneous, and ground-fault thresholds to coordinate with downstream breakers, rather than being stuck with a fixed thermal-magnetic curve. At 240 V it handles 187 kA; at 415 V, 121 kA; at 500 V, 75.6 kA; and at 690 V, 9 kA. IP40 front protection.
Dimensions: 138 mm wide, 248 mm high, 110 mm deep.
Temperature derating — don't size at 630 A without reading this
If your panel runs hotter — and most enclosed panels do — you must derate. The evidence gives the full curve: 612 A at 45 °C, 593 A at 50 °C, 575 A at 55 °C, 557 A at 60 °C, 538 A at 65 °C, and 520 A at 70 °C. At 70 °C you lose 110 A of capacity. If you're loading this breaker near its nameplate, model the enclosure temperature or step up to the next frame size.
Power loss and storage limits
Maximum power loss is 162 W at rated current.
